Yesterday, officers from Bridgnorth Safer Neighbourhood Team joined colleagues from DVSA and Shropshire Council for a multi-agency operation on the A41 near Tong, focusing on road safety, vehicle compliance, and preventing crime.
A number of vehicles were stopped and checked throughout the day, resulting in enforcement action being taken where offences were identified, including the issue of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs).
One vehicle stopped was a trader towing a trailer loaded with multiple vehicles. Following checks by DVSA, it was established that the vehicle and trailer combination exceeded the threshold requiring an Operator's Licence. The driver was unaware of the legal requirement and was subsequently reported and issued with a fine.
Operations like this help ensure that vehicles being used for commercial purposes are operating legally and safely, protecting other road users and creating a level playing field for businesses that comply with the regulations.
A big thank you to our partners from DVSA and Shropshire Council for their support and expertise throughout the day.
We will continue to carry out similar operations across the area to tackle offending, improve road safety, and keep our communities safe.
